Fleur de Lis
July 8th - 11th 10:30 - 12:30 (ages 6 up)
Students will mix their own paint colors while creating a symmetrical design of a Fleur de Lis. They will also learn about the origins and the significance of this popular symbol as it pertains to Louisiana. A painting on 16x20 canvas will result from tracing a template of this symbol using pencils, rulers, and tape.
This class will be taught by guest Artist and Educator Melissa Begnaud Mark

Dog People or Cat People - Inspired by artist Heather Galler (ages 6 up)
July 8th - 11th 2:00 - 4:00
Beside the bright colors and wild repeated patterns these animal sculptures have attitude! Students will create a shape with recycled items, apply plaster gauze, paint with acrylic and use their imagination to add individual characteristics and personal touches. So will it be cat or dog? Your choice!
